This recipe only takes a few minutes to make and works out cheaper than buying from a store. Hummus is usually made with Tahini but I use olive oil and ground cumin as an alternative. Use a food processor or blender. Makes 4-5 servings.
- 1 can of drained chickpeas (keep the liquid for blending)
- 1 garlic clove crushed or 1tsp ground garlic
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil or rapeseed
1.In a blender or food processor, place all ingredients apart from reserved chickpea liquid.
2.Blend on low speed and gradually add chickpea liquid until hummus reaches desired consistency.
3.Keep in a container in the fridge for 3-5 days or lasts in the freezer for few months.
